Unexpected Benefits of Love

Being-deeply-loved-by-someone-gives-you-strength-while-loving-someone-deeply-gives-you-courage.-Lao-Tzu1

Lao Tzu (also known as Laozi) was born in China six hundred and four years before Christ. He is the author of the Tao Te Ching and the founder of Taoism. You may be familiar with the saying, “A journey of a thousand miles must begin with a single step.” This is one of the many quotes attributed to Lao Tzu.

This ancient philosopher also tells us that when we are loved deeply, it gives us strength. Difficult situations become less so when you know you have the support that comes from someone who loves you unconditionally. We all face challenges from time to time. However, when we have that special someone by our side, it makes it easier to deal with whatever life might throw at us. When we are given love, we are better equipped to handle both the ups and the downs.

In addition, Lao Tzu says that when we give love — and we love deeply, we gain courage. I have heard news stories where a young man risked or even sacrificed his own life to save his girlfriend in a harrowing situation. A parent might risk his or her own life for their child. Our love for another makes us brave in the face of danger. We are willing to take risks we might not have otherwise.

The act of giving our love is inherent with risk. What if the love we give is not returned? I believe that Lord Alfred Tennyson put it very well when he wrote, “‘Tis better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all.” What we give comes back to us. The more love we give, the more love we will receive. If loving deeply does, indeed, also give us the gift of courage … all the better.

Author: Anita Louise Romance

My husband, Mike, comes from a large and loving family of nine children, and they were the inspiration for the Adler Series. All of my books center around the important people in every woman’s life – romantic relationships, family, and friends. I do my best to take readers on an emotional journey as they observe how the characters in my stories think and feel. It is my hope that while reading, hearts will be touched, funny-bones will be tickled, and overall, lovers of romance will be uplifted and inspired. I have always been an avid reader of love stories, and my passion for romance found another outlet when I discovered how much fun it was to write about my own smart and sexy heroes and heroines. I am also an ardent and devoted student of personal development. Weaving the life changing principles that guided me to the love of my life and to a happy marriage is an important aspect in each of my novels. . Hope you enjoy getting to know all the Adlers as much and I'm enjoying them. Please look for me on Amazon and other popular sites.
